Dorothy Ann Willis Richards (1933–2006) was Texas Treasurer 1983-1991 + 45th Texas Governor 1991-1995. Famous 1988 DNC keynote: "Poor George, he can't help it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth." Lost 1994 reelection to George W. Bush by 7 points. Mother of Cecile Richards (Planned Parenthood Pres 2006-18). Recovered alcoholic; advocate of women in Texas politics.
